Conservative MP example text

Dear Conservative MP,

I am writing today as your constituent to ask that you take five minutes out of your day to read at least the executive summary of a recent report on housing.

The report sets out a robust economic appraisal of how the Government can save £91 billion annually by 2065, a strategy in keeping with the Conservative’s long term economic plan, by contributing towards the investment in building 100,000 homes for social rent per year.

These savings would be complemented by benefits to the economy as every pound spent on construction output stimulates an increase of £2.84 in gross domestic product and an extra 56 pence of new tax revenues for the exchequer.

The report can be found at - www.4socialhousing.co.uk/research

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the report, and of social housing in general.

I look forward to receiving your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Labour, Liberal Democrat or other MP,

I am writing today as your constituent to ask that you take five minutes out of your day to read at least the executive summary of a recent report on housing.

The report sets out a robust economic appraisal of how future governments can save £91 billion annually by 2065, a strategy in keeping with the general consensus of reducing government debt, by contributing towards the investment in building 100,000 homes for social rent per year.

These savings would be complemented by benefits to the economy as every pound spent on construction output stimulates an increase of £2.84 in gross domestic product and an extra 56 pence of new tax revenues for the exchequer. This is not to mention the various knock on benefits to be found in health, well being or education for example.

The report can be found at - www.4socialhousing.co.uk/research

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the report, and of social housing in general.

I look forward to receiving your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Step 4.

After you have copied the example text you can personalise the wording of the email if you wish. However, we would recommend that you don’t make the email too long.

Don’t forget to address your MP by name and to add your name at the bottom.

It should then look something like this…

Once you are happy with the content of the email you will need to complete the information needed for the ‘About You’ section. This is so that the MP knows it is their constituent that is contacting them.

Click the green button to proceed.
